Passthrough Gifts may be more commonly known as "soft credits." Any time a giver makes a gift via a third party, like a donor-advised fund, the gift must be entered on the Contact record for the foundation or organization sending the actual check. The originating giver should be entered as the Passthrough Giver.

Passthrough Gifts will be listed on a Contact's record, but will not be included in lifetime giving totals or appear on year-end giving statements.
